Definition and terminology

Yi, Bing and Ding are the Three Wonders, traditionally Sun, Moon and Star Wonders. Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren and Gui are Instruments. Together they fill nine stem positions. Jia receives separate treatment through six decade leaders, rather than being lost. These role names and celestial associations do not establish measurable extraordinary energy.

Structure and rules

The usual concealed associations are Jia-Zi/Wu, Jia-Xu/Ji, Jia-Shen/Geng, Jia-Wu/Xin, Jia-Chen/Ren and Jia-Yin/Gui. A common base sequence is Wu Ji Geng Xin Ren Gui Ding Bing Yi, forward in yang and backward in yin arrangements. Upper and lower chart stems have separate provenance and do not constitute new BaZi pillars.

Worked reading

For a yang first arrangement, place Wu at 1, Ji 2, Geng 3, Xin 4, Ren 5, Gui 6, Ding 7, Bing 8 and Yi 9. Jia-Zi decade uses Wu for its concealed-Jia association. This installs only base stems, leaving star, door and spirit layers incomplete; it cannot establish a real activity recommendation.

Context and limits

Origin traditions invoke legendary figures, which the Siku editorial account already questions. Name explanations are not historical proof. Jia handling and central hosting have additional variants. Pairing and sequence tables can be checked, while favorable or unfavorable combinations remain internal interpretive judgments, not discovered physical interactions between stem characters.
