Definition and terminology
The signs are Tianpeng, Tianrui, Tianchong, Tianfu, Tianqin, Tianxin, Tianzhu, Tianren and Tianying. Orthographic variants require attention. Stars carry traditional qualities distinct from door and spirit layers. Tianqin occupies the center in the base scheme. This is not an abbreviated list of Ziwei’s fourteen principal stars.
Structure and rules
Base positions pair palaces 1–9 with Peng, Rui, Chong, Fu, Qin, Xin, Zhu, Ren and Ying respectively. Chief Star selection uses the decade leader, followed by timing rules. Center hosting differs between rotating and flying methods. A base table must not be mistaken for the completed chart at every moment.
Worked reading
Write Tianxin at Qian 6 and Tianfu at Xun 4, noting traditional planning and instruction imagery. In a movement exercise, distinguish a star’s base position from its destination. That makes returning-to-base terminology understandable. It does not establish that an actual event must repeat merely because a sign returns to its original palace.
Context and limits
Historical manuals vary in star favorability and seasonal-strength rules; one table is not universal. Tongzong preserves alternatives and conditions. Modern diagnostic imagery remains symbolic and cannot supply medical diagnosis. Explain the star list, Chief Star and center handling, while separating positional dignity language from the physical brightness of a celestial object.
