Alternative spellings and transliteration matter. Romanizing a word and calculating it through an English table is another procedure, not a continuation of the identical original-language numerical value.
Concrete example
The Hebrew word חי, often translated life, adds ח at eight and י at ten to make eighteen. This illustrates a linguistic association and a culturally situated symbolism, not universal luck. Summing the Roman spelling chai through an English table gives that table’s result instead of reproducing this Hebrew calculation. The original letters are therefore essential evidence.
Historical context and limits
The Book of Formation places numbers and letters within Jewish cosmological language, and later Kabbalistic commentaries develop varied readings. It is not a modern numerology handbook. Jewish, Christian and Hermetic adaptations need separate identification. Respect original texts and practitioners rather than treating divine names as interchangeable prediction devices or deriving health and destiny claims from a word total.
